Website Optimization

Website Optimization is the art and science of creating your web pages so they are searchable by search engine. If you're serious about your business, than optimizing your website is essential. Website optimizing will take time and energy on your part even if you hire a website optimization company to handle it for you. Website optimization falls into two basic categories:

  1. On site optimization: Creating searchable paths within your website, meta tags, page titles, optimized keywords.
  2. Off site optimization: Anchor text, Linking, Directory submission.

The first step to web site optimization is developing clear pathways from one page to the next and making each page and its keywords relevant. Below is a diagram illustrating one way to set up your website navigation. As you can see from the chart, there is continuity in linking form the home page to the themes and down to the individual pages. Developing a clear and organized structure adds to your visitors experience. Whatever linking system you decide to use on your website it must be clear to the user or your visitors will not return.

Other website optimization tools include the following:

Basic Search Engine Optimization Techniques:

  • Keyword Research: Optimizing your website for keywords is critical. You must select the correct keywords for your pages.
  • Great Content: Once you have your keywords write great content including those keywords.
  • Meta tags: Be sure you accurately write these small pieces of code. The most important, by our estimation, are the description tag, the keyword tag, and the robot tag.
  • Page Titles: Add your keywords to the title of the page. This Title is "read" by search engine robots and your human viewers as well.
Link Popularity: Developing links to your site is also critical. Google in particular ranks your site (in part) by how many credible links you have to your site. Developing links to your site can be very time consuming, but it's always worth it. We suggest you do not use link exchange programs as most search engines now considers them to be spam.

Affordable web site optimization is the key and should be a joint effort between you and your website optimization firm. You might already have a website up and running. If that's the case, re-optimizing your site might be the best thing to do. This will require an individual webpage analysis as well as a complete website search engine optimization analysis. Keniston & Company's website optimization and promotion experts will assist you in targeting as much traffic as possible to your website and are on hand to help you achieve this goal. Once your site is optimized it's time to move on to Move to Website Promotion.
